If you are an Assistant Accountant or Bookkeeper looking for a family-friendly, small team to really belong to,we would like to hear from you.
Our assistant accountants support our partners in all administration and accountant tasks.
Tasks will include:
· Bank reconciliations
· Assist in the preparation of financial accounts, Profit & loss and Balance Sheet
· Assist in the preparation of Quarterly/Monthly Business Activity Statements
· Assist in the preparation of tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
· Post journals and accruals
· Prepare payroll documents, including superannuation and workers compensation calculation
· General office administrative duties as required
Essential Criteria
The successful applicants will possess:
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (including written & oral) and demonstrated ability to liaise with a wide range of people including regulatory bodies
· University degree in accounting/finance
· Basic understanding of tax law
· Advanced Computer Skills
· Demonstrated ability to show initiative, be proactive and highly developed organisational skills
· Ability to work autonomously, multi task and manage under pressure
· Strong attention to detail for ensuring accuracy of reports and documents
Desirable Criteria
· Experience in working within private practice, such as accounting or legal firms would be an advantage
· Experience using MYOB, Xero and Handisoft or other Accounting software
This position offers long term part time employment in a small accounting practice. Initially 2 days/week with scope for growth. Looking for a candidate who is responsible, motivated and has a passion for figures.
